My Trip to Davao in Mindanao the Philippines to have my teeth fixed. July-August 2007

Top and bottom natural teeth before seeing Dr Lourdes Lebosada, missing teeth and lots of wear and fillings

Top and bottom teeth prepared by Dr Lourdes before fitting the Porcelain fused to metal crowns

Temporary teeth on bottom, Final bottom and temporary top fitted.

Final smile. Not the best looking guy on the block but a definite improvement. Can now smile with confidence.
Dr Lourdes Lebosada told me to look after them as they could last 30 years. Most likely would have spent much more on my teeth over the next 20 years or so than the total cost for the new smile.
History, I was getting a bit pissed off with not having the confidence to smile and when my partial plate broke I decided to do something about it. In 6 months before I went to Davao I had the local dentist here in Childers do 3 fillings at a cost of $250.00 and he hurt like hell. Over the next 2 months 2 of these fillings fell out. I returned to this dentist and complained. I was told it was my fault because I didn't spend $700. to $800 per tooth to have them done properly. You can guess what I told him.
I looked at several alternatives both here in Australia and overseas until I contacted a long time internet friend Bob Martin, an American who lives in Davao. Bob recommended his dentist Dr Lourdes Lebrosada whom he said had done similar work on his mum who flew from the states to see her.
I emailed a few pics of my problem teeth and was surprised to receive a very encouraging reply giving great prices. I decided this was the way I would go. Also I haven't been to this part of the Philippines before and I can say it's more than likely one of the best parts.
Have to say between Bob Martin and Dr Lebosada my trip to Davao was a pleasure, Bob because he looked after me by picking me up from the airport, booking hotels and taking me on trips to the mountains and islands. I have known Bob for many years on the internet however this was the first time we had met face to face. A great guy. Also the care and attention and of course the professional way Dr Lebosada gave me gives me the confidence to highly recommend her for any dental treatment. Very gentle and just about painless also good looking.
Prices, In Australia I had several options, One; was to continue with having fillings and wearing a partial plate. Same problems I had for the last 40 odd years. Two; Have the lot pulled and wear top and bottom plates, quoted about $3500. Three; Have work similar to the work I had done in Davao. Quotes in Australia were from $22000 in Bundaberg to around $35000 in Canberra.
The cost was Philippine Peso100000 which on the exchange rate the day I paid was $2551. Total with the cost of airfares, hotels etc was a little over $5000 and I was able to have a great holiday in a beautiful place thrown in for less than 25% on Australian prices.
