Connect the Modem to Power
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the PWR port of your ADSL router, and plug the other end into a power outlet. Turn on the power and the Modem.
- Please follow the appropriate diagram depending on whether your phone and modem need to use the same socket or not.
- Plug your telephone (or any non DSL equipment) into the PHONE port of the filter, and then plug your filter into the wall socket. OR
- If required, plug your DSL Modem through the ADSL port of the Filter and then into the wall socket.
- Attach one end of the Grey Ethernet cable into the LAN port of your ADSL modem and the other end into the Ethernet Port on your Desktop or Laptop computer.
- Click ‘Start then ‘Control Panel’.
- If your view is set to ‘Classic View’ (as indicated on the left side), you will see the below screen. Then click on ‘Network and Sharing Center’ icon. If you don’t see the below screen, click on ‘Classic View’ on the left side.
- Click on the ‘View status’ link on the right side.
- Click on the ‘Properties’ button.
- Select ‘Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)’ and click ‘Properties’.
- Select the following:
‘Obtain an IP address automatically’
‘Obtain DNS server address automatically’
Then click ‘OK’. - To begin using the Internet, open your preferred web browser, eg Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. In the address bar type: www.supernerd.com.au and click ‘Go ’.
Important! Every device (except your DSL modem) that you plan to use on the same phone line/number as your DSL will require a Filter, eg. phone, fax, house alarm and caller display units.

Connect the Modem to Power

- Ethernet Setup
Attach one end of the Grey Ethernet cable into the LAN port of your ADSL modem and the other end into the Ethernet Port on your Desktop or Laptop computer. - USB Setup (for the RTA1320 ONLY)
Do not connect the USB cable until the USB drivers have been installed. - On your task bar, click ‘Start’ then ‘Run’.
- In the Run window, type:
"<your cd-rom drive letter>\products\rta1320\driver\setup.exe" - The welcome screen will appear. Click ‘Next’.
- Once the InstallShield Wizard has completed the installation, click ‘Finish’.
- Connect the Black USB cable to the USB socket on the ADSL modem and into the USB socket on your desktop or laptop computer.
- The system will detect the USB driver automatically and start installing.
- When the file copying has finished, the dialog will close and the USB drivers will be installed.
- Open your preferred web browser, eg Internet Explorer.
- In the address bar type: http://www.supernerd.com.au and click ‘Go’.

To find out what version of Windows you are using...

- Using the included Ethernet Network Cable, connect one end to the LAN1X port on the NetComm NB9WMAXX. Connect the other end to one of your computer’s LAN ports.
- If you have another computer, you will need to aquire another Ethernet Network Cable. Connect one end to the LAN2X port on the NetComm NB9WMAXX. Connect the other end to one of your computer’s LAN ports.
- Using your telephone line, connect one end from the Telephone Wall Socket to the rear port on the Splitter.
- Using one of the included telephone cables, connect one end to the Phone port of the Splitter. Connect the other end to the Line port on the NetComm NB9WMAXX.
- Using the other included telephone cables, connect one end to the ADSL port of the Splitter and the other end to the ADSL port on the NetComm NB9WMAXX.
- Using a telephone cable, connect your Phone to the Phone 1 port on the NetComm NB9WMAXX.
- If you want to make simultaneous multiple VOIP calls, plug your second Phone into the Phone 2 port.
- Using the included Power Adapter, connect it from the Power port of the NetComm NB9WMAXX to a power point.
- Pick up your Phone and listen for a dial tone. You can then begin to make calls using NerdPhone!

IMPORTANT: Your VoIP Phone Number is shown at the bottom of this page, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive all incoming calls using this phone number, with the
exception of SuperNerd VoIP calls. We recommend that you use the NerdPhone service for outgoing calls (using Phone Handset 1 shown in the diagram below), and use your
standard PSTN Phone Number for incoming calls (using Phone Handset 2 shown in the diagram below). If you only have one phone handset, to receive incoming calls on your
standard PSTN Phone Number you must unplug your handset from the PAP2T and plug it into the Line Port on your Splitter (where Phone Handset 2 is shown in the diagram below).

Connect the Modem to Power
- Connect the supplied power adapter to the PWR port of your ADSL router, and plug the other end into a power outlet. Turn on the power and the Modem.
- Please follow the appropriate diagram depending on how many wall sockets you are using.
- Plug your telephone (or any non DSL equipment) into the PHONE port of the filter, and then plug your filter into the wall socket OR
- If required, plug your DSL Modem through the ADSL port of the Filter and then into the wall socket.
- Attach one end of the Grey Ethernet cable into the LAN port of your ADSL modem and the other end into the Ethernet Port on your Desktop or Laptop computer.
- Open your preferred web browser, eg Internet Explorer.
- In the address bar type: http://www.supernerd.com.au and click ‘Go’.

IMPORTANT: Your Phone Number is shown at the bottom of this page, but we cannot guarantee that you will receive all incoming calls using this phone number, with the
exception of VOIP calls. We recommend you use the NerdPhone service for outgoing calls, and use your current phone number for incoming calls.

- Using the included Ethernet Network Cable, connect one end to the LAN1X port on the NetComm NB9W. Connect the other end to one of your computer’s LAN ports.
- If you have another computer, you will need to aquire another Ethernet Network Cable. Connect one end to the LAN2X port on the NetComm NB9W. Connect the other end to one of your computer’s LAN ports.
- Using your telephone line, connect one end from the Telephone Wall Socket to the rear port on the Splitter.
- Using one of the included telephone cables, connect one end to the Phone port of the Splitter. Connect the other end to the Line port on the NetComm NB9W.
- Using the other included telephone cables, connect one end to the ADSL port of the Splitter and the other end to the ADSL port on the NetComm NB9W.
- Using a telephone cable, connect your Phone to the Phone 1 port on the NetComm NB9W.
- If you want to make simultaneous multiple VOIP calls, plug your second Phone into the Phone 2 port.
- Using the included Power Adapter, connect it from the Power port of the NetComm NB9W to a power point.
- Pick up your Phone and listen for a dial tone. You can then begin to make calls using NerdPhone!

- Plug the ADSL Modem directly from the Lan socket on the modem into the network card on your computer. Turn the modem on. Once the lights have appeared, turn on your computer. The diagram below shows how to correctly fit your DSL Filter in a typical situation with 1 phone device. Every device (except your DSL modem) that you plan to use on the same phone line (same phone number) as your DSL will require a Filter. You can however use a phone cable double adapter in order to use only 1 Filter for 2 phone devices.
- Double click the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop. If a ‘Connection’ window appears, click Cancel or Work Offline.
- In the address bar type: http://192.168.1.1 and then press Go or press Enter on your keyboard.
- If a connection windows appears, click Cancel or Work Offline.
In the menu, click on Tools, then Internet Options.... - Click on the Connections tab.
Select the option Never dial a connection. Then click on the LAN Settings... button. - Untick all of the ticked boxes.
Then click Ok, then Ok again. - A ‘Connect to 192.168.1.1’ box will appear. Type the following in the fields:
username: admin
password: admin
Then click Ok. - Click on Quick Setup.
- Untick Auto Scan Internet Connection (PVC) and enter the following:
VPI: 8
VCI: 35
Then click Next. - Select PPP over ATM (PPPoA) and set the �Encapsulation Type� to VC MUX. Then click Next.
- Don’t alter any settings, just click Next.
- Type the following settings:
Username: ‘phonenumber’@supernerd.com.au
Password: your password
Session established by: Always On
Then click Next. - Don’t alter any settings, just click Next.
- Click Finish.
The Dynalink RTA1335 is now configured for SuperNerd SuperDSL.
To use the Internet, open your Web Browser (eg. Internet Explorer).

Setup Guide for Dynalink USB ALE800 using Windows XP
- Plug the USB Modem into your computer and then turn your computer on.
- Once the modem is plugged in, the ‘Add New Hardware Wizard’ will appear. You can also run the wizard manually by clicking ‘Start’, ‘Settings’, ‘Control Panel’ then ‘Add/Remove Hardware’
- Click ‘Next’.
- Select ‘Install the software automaticlly’.
- Click ‘Next’.
- Windows will then search for new hardware and the drivers for it.
- If the ‘the hardware has not passed windows logo testing’ window appears, then click ‘Continue Anyway’.
- Once the wizard has finished installing the modem drivers, click ‘Finish’.
- Close all open applications and Restart your computer.
- Once you return to the Windows desktop, you will have a ‘SuperDSL’ icon. Double click it.
- The ‘Connect SuperDSL’ window will appear, enter the following details:
Username: <yourDSLphonenumber>@supernerd.com.au
Password: <yourDSLphonenumber> - Click ‘Dial’ to connect to the Internet.
- The Dynalink USB ALE800 Modem is now configured for Supernerd DSL.

- Double click on the ‘Network Connections’ icon. If it is not listed you may need to click on ‘Switch to Classic View’ in the top left hand corner of the control panel.
- Right click on your ‘Local Area Connection’ and click ‘Properties’.
- Highlight ‘Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)’ and click ‘Properties’.
- Ensure ‘Obtain an IP address automaticlly’ and ‘Obtain DNS server address automatically’ are selected.
- Click OK then OK again.
- Your network is now configured for Supernerd DSL.
- Double click on the 'Internet Explorer' icon on your desktop
- In the address bar type: http://192.168.1.1 and then press ‘Go’ or press ‘Enter’ on your keyboard.
- A User name and Password box should appear, if it doesn't then you will need to setup Internet Exporer for DSL.
Enter the fields with the following:

- For the ‘Primary DNS Server’, set the correct server for your state:
Victoria: 203.62.159.2 New South Wales: 203.185.240.2 Queensland: 202.147.122.252 - For the ‘Secondary DNS Server’, set the correct server for your state:
Victoria: 203.62.158.1 New South Wales: 203.62.159.2 Queensland: 203.62.159.2 - Click Submit.
- Go to the ‘Admin’ Tab and select ‘Save & Reboot’.
- Click the ‘Save’ Button.
- The Dynalink RTA100+ Router is now configured for Supernerd DSL.
